  • Special Meal

On April 22nd, Maplewood Steakhouse, at the corner of Route 2 and Douglas Street in Ironwood, Michigan, is hosting a meal of broasted chicken, baked potato, grilled vegetables and a dessert. Half of the cost of the meal will be donated to New Beginnings. Adult meals are $10 apiece, and children's meals are $5 each. Board members, volunteers, New Beginnings and the Maplewood will have tickets for sale beginning March 15, 2012. The meal provides the opportunity for seeing friends in the community and eating a great meal together. Don't miss it!

  • Volunteer Training

Have you ever wished that you could help those who have fewer advantages than you've had, but didn't know how to go about it? Maybe you were a teenaged mother who had no resources to help you cope with what was happening to you. Or maybe, someone close to you has had an abortion, and lives with regret every day. Because New Beginnings is affiliated with Care Net and Heartbeat International, we must provide 21 hours of training to our volunteers. Our next training is scheduled for 5:30-9:30 pm April 16, 17, 19, and 20, and 8am - 1pm on Saturday, April 21, after which we will have a meal together. The training will take place in the largest classroom at the Range Community Bible Church, 610 Hwy 51 South, Hurley, Wisconsin. Each person who completes the training will receive a Certificate of Completion, and will be equpped to begin volunteering at New Beginnings Pregnancy Support Services. Please call us if you are interested in attending training. The cost for your student manual is $25, but the training itself is free.

    Baby Bottle Boomerang

We have delivered baby bottles to businesses, churches and individuals. People will be putting their pocket change in the bottles from now until March 1, 2012, at which time New Beginnings will collect them. This campaign is a popular one, and will yield anywhere from $3000-$4000 for help with our free services to moms and dads in our area. If you would like to participate, contact us at 906-932-0414.
